- RocketReach lists Essentials at $399 billed annually, Pro at $899 and Ultimate at $1,699, with 5 free lookups; checked on its pricing page 2026-10-08.
- It is a lookup tool: you start with a person. VendBuddy (our product) starts with local businesses near a ZIP and shows who decides there.
- Apollo, Hunter, Snov.io and Prospeo add a free plan and, in most cases, sending; Lusha prices phones at 5 credits each.
- Stay with RocketReach for a flat yearly price, CRM integrations (Pro and up) or intent and healthcare data (Ultimate).
RocketReach alternatives matter most when you are paying for lookups you do not use, or when your real question is not "what is this person's email" but "who should I be emailing in the first place". RocketReach is a lookup tool with a clear yearly price. Below are six alternatives, with each vendor's price read from its own page on 2026-10-08, and an honest note on where RocketReach is the better pick.
Part of our complete guide: how to find vending machine locations.
The short answer
- Pick VendBuddy if you do not yet have names. It starts from local businesses near a ZIP (apartments, offices, gyms, medical offices) and shows who decides at each, then you reveal the contacts you want. VendBuddy is our product.
- Stay with RocketReach if you already have a list of people and want a flat yearly price, or you need CRM integrations (Pro and up) or intent and healthcare data (Ultimate).
- Pick Apollo or Hunter if you want a free plan that also sends emails. Pick Prospeo if you want a free tier with no time limit.
- Skip a paid tool if you need fewer than a dozen contacts. Try finding the owner yourself first.
VendBuddy is our product. The button opens the free search; no card is needed and you start with 5 free credits.
What RocketReach actually sells, per its page
RocketReach's pricing page lists three paid plans. Essentials is $399 billed annually (shown as $33 a month) with 1,200 exports a year. Pro is $899 a year (shown as $75 a month) with 3,600 exports a year and integrations with Salesforce, Outreach, HubSpot, Salesloft and Bullhorn. Ultimate is $1,699 a year (shown as $142 a month) with 20,000 exports a year, Salesforce custom mapping, intent data and healthcare data. All three list API and MCP access. Lookups are listed as 100, 250 and 1,000 a month on monthly billing, and "unlimited" on annual billing, with a fair-use FAQ linked from the page. The free account gives 5 lookups, no card needed. We checked all of this on 2026-10-08.
That is a tidy offer. The reasons to look elsewhere are about fit, not flaws.
- You are paying for lookups, not discovery. RocketReach works best when you type a person's name and company. It does not hand you a list of nearby buildings.
- Annual billing is the cheap route. The $33 and $75 a month figures are what the yearly price works out to. If you only want a month or two, the page shows monthly billing as a separate, lower lookup allowance.
- Sending is somewhere else. The plan pages list integrations with sending tools such as Outreach and Salesloft rather than a built-in sender, so plan on a separate tool.
How we checked
On 2026-10-08 we opened each vendor's own pricing page (and, for VendBuddy, our pricing page, homepage and ZIP-search page) and copied plan names, prices and limits into the table. This is a pricing and fit comparison from those pages, not a hands-on lab test, so we give no scores and no accuracy or deliverability numbers. Where a page did not say something, we left it out. Vendors change plans often, so confirm on their page before you pay.

The alternatives
VendBuddy (our product)
Best for: a person who sells to local businesses and needs the list built for them, not just a lookup box.
Price (checked 2026-10-08): Free account with 5 credits and no card. Starter is $49 a month for 150 credits, or $39 a month billed yearly ($470, with 240 bonus credits). The difference from RocketReach is where you start. With RocketReach you start with a person. With VendBuddy you start with a place: type a ZIP, choose property types, and get a free list with address, category, website and the usual decision-maker title for each. Reveal one contact at a time for 1 credit. If you want to write to them, the site includes four free templates and a 2-credit option to have a pitch written for a particular building.
On your website: once you have a few machines placed, a small site with your own photos and a request-a-machine form is what a property manager clicks before they call. Wix or Base44 will draft one from a description in an evening; our AI website walkthrough covers the pages that matter. Affiliate link, so we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Skip it if: you want to look up named people anywhere in the country, need intent or healthcare data, or need an outside CRM sync.
Apollo
Affiliate link: VendBuddy may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

When you should stay with RocketReach
If you already know who you are trying to reach, RocketReach's model is simple to budget: one yearly price per plan. Pro adds integrations with Salesforce, Outreach, HubSpot, Salesloft and Bullhorn, which matters for a recruiting team on Bullhorn or a sales team on Salesforce. Ultimate lists intent data and healthcare data, which none of the cheaper tools above list. A tool that quietly does one job well is a fine choice.
Pricing math
Stated case: you want about 100 reveals a month for twelve months. Sticker prices only.
- RocketReach Essentials: $399 for the year, 1,200 exports a year (which is exactly 100 a month).
- Lusha Starter: $37.45 x 12 = $449.40 for 4,800 credits a year; at 1 credit per email that is plenty, but at 6 credits per contact with a phone, 800 contacts.
- Hunter Starter: $408 billed yearly, 2,000 credits a month.
- VendBuddy: 100 reveals is 100 credits. Two 50-credit packs are $64 once, or Starter is $49 for the month with 150 credits.
VendBuddy's pay-per-reveal model is the main difference. On Starter, 150 credits for $49 works out to about 33 cents a reveal; the packs run from 64 cents a credit (50 for $32) down to 49 cents (500 plus 100 bonus for $295), and pack credits do not expire. There is no seat licence. The 7-day money-back guarantee applies to a first subscription payment if you have not used a credit, and renewals and credit packs are not refundable, per the pricing page.
After the contact: the call
Whichever tool gives you a phone number, you need somewhere to call from that is not your personal cell. Quo is a business phone app (affiliate link; not tested by us, so use its trial to judge it). Our guide to business phone for vending business goes through the options, and cold email scripts cover the first message.
Affiliate link. We earn a commission if you sign up through it, at no extra cost to you. It does not change which tool we recommend.
Where VendBuddy fits, and who should not use it
VendBuddy is our product. The difference from RocketReach is the starting point: RocketReach starts from a person, VendBuddy from a place. Type a US ZIP, choose property types (79 are listed, including apartment communities, offices, gyms and medical offices) and the list of nearby businesses appears with the usual decision-maker title. The pricing page shows one real search: 44 locations within 10 miles. Searching and exporting the company list is free, and one credit reveals the best contact on file for one business you pick (see the pricing page).
If you already have names, RocketReach is the more direct tool. Reveals draw on outside data providers; we do not own a contact database and we publish no accuracy rate, so judge it on the 5 free credits. The product was built for vending operators, so the revenue rating and the pitch extras are vending-specific.
Who should not use VendBuddy:
- People who need healthcare or intent data from a named-person database.
- Enterprise sales teams that need intent data, technographics, 100,000-contact exports or an outside CRM sync (the pricing page lists a built-in pipeline CRM only).
- Anyone searching by job title nationwide, or outside the US: search starts from a US ZIP and a distance.
