- ZoomInfo's pricing page lists no dollar amounts, only product names and a credit model, so small buyers cannot budget without talking to sales.
- Apollo, Hunter, Lusha, RocketReach and LeadMagic publish plans; entry prices run from free to $99 a month.
- VendBuddy (our product) fits one job: local businesses near a ZIP and the decision-maker there, paid per reveal.
- ZoomInfo is still the right call for enterprise teams that need intent topics, ABM tools and conversation intelligence.
ZoomInfo alternatives are worth a look the moment you notice that ZoomInfo does not publish a price. For a small business that wants contacts and does not want a sales call first, the sensible move is to compare tools that list their plans in public. Below are seven, with prices read from each vendor's own page on 2026-10-08, plus the cases where ZoomInfo is still the right buy.
Part of our complete guide: how to find vending machine locations.
The short answer
- Pick VendBuddy if your buyers are local businesses (apartments, offices, gyms, medical offices) and you want the decision-maker at each, with a price you can read before you sign up. You pay per reveal, not per seat. VendBuddy is our product.
- Pick Apollo for the closest low-cost match on nationwide B2B search: a Free plan and paid plans from $49 per seat a month billed annually.
- Stay with ZoomInfo if you run an enterprise or mid-market sales team that needs intent topics, account-based tools, conversation intelligence and a procurement-ready contract.
- Skip them all if you need under 25 contacts a month. Start with the free methods in how to find business owner contact information.
VendBuddy is our product. The button opens the free search; no card is needed and you start with 5 free credits.
We have no relationship with ZoomInfo, Hunter, Lusha, RocketReach or the others in this post, and we earn nothing if you pick them. We earn from VendBuddy, which is our product, and a commission if you sign up for Apollo through the labeled link below.
Why small businesses look for ZoomInfo alternatives
All of this comes from ZoomInfo's own pricing page, read on 2026-10-08.
- There are no published prices. The page names the products (Professional, Copilot Advanced, Copilot Enterprise, Marketing Demand, ABM Lite, ABM Enterprise, Chorus, Chat) and shows no dollar amounts. You find out the number by talking to sales.
- Cost depends on credits and data depth. The page says a ZoomInfo credit is the consumption (export) of a professional or company profile, with each export costing one credit, and that the cost of credits depends on "the depth of information a customer requires". That is hard to budget before you start.
- It is shaped for bigger teams. Marketing Demand lists 75,000 included credits and ABM Enterprise lists 100 intent topics and 150,000 included credits. A shop that needs a few hundred contacts a year is not the audience those numbers describe.
None of that is a flaw. It is a different customer. The point is to match the tool to the job.
How we checked
On 2026-10-08 we opened each vendor's own pricing page (and, for VendBuddy, our pricing page, homepage and ZIP-search page) and copied plan names, prices and limits into the table. This is a pricing and fit comparison from those pages, not a hands-on lab test, so we give no scores and no accuracy or deliverability numbers. Where a page did not say something, we left it out. Vendors change plans often, so confirm on their page before you pay.

The alternatives
VendBuddy (our product)
Best for: a small business that sells to local buildings and wants a free list first and a reveal only on the places it picks.
Price (checked 2026-10-08): Free account with 5 credits and no card. Starter is $49 a month for 150 credits, or $39 a month billed yearly ($470, with 240 bonus credits). Pro is $79 a month for 300 credits ($63 a month yearly). Credit packs are $32 for 50, $119 for 200 and $295 for 500 (plus 100 bonus), and pack credits never expire.
ZoomInfo is a database you query by company and person attributes. VendBuddy is a map you query by place. You enter a ZIP, pick property types, and get every match with its address, category and website for free, with the usual decision-maker title for that kind of building. One credit reveals the best contact on file for one business. There is no seat licence and no sales call. The trade-off is scope: it covers local US businesses by ZIP, not the world's companies by title.
Skip it if: you need intent data, technographics, a large export or a CRM sync. Details further down.
Apollo.io
Affiliate link: VendBuddy may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Best for: the nearest published-price equivalent for a nationwide B2B search.
Price (checked 2026-10-08): Free at $0 (900 credits per seat a year, granted monthly; 1 mailbox; 250 emails a day). Basic is $49 per seat a month billed annually (30,000 credits a year). Professional is $79 (48,000 credits). Organization is $119 with a 3-seat minimum (72,000 credits).
Apollo lists mailboxes, sends per day, workflows and call recording minutes by plan, which is more than ZoomInfo's public page shows. See our Apollo.io alternatives guide for the trade-offs.
Skip it if: you want a place-based list rather than a title-based one.
Lusha
Best for: a light, pay-as-you-grow way to get emails and phones for people you have named.
Price (checked 2026-10-08): Free with 40 credits a month. Starter is $37.45 a month billed yearly (4,800 credits a year). Pro is $52.45 a month billed yearly (7,200 credits a year). Premium is $299.95 a month billed yearly (40,800 credits a year). Scale is custom.
Lusha's page spells out the credit rates: a verified email costs 1 credit, a phone number 5 credits. Easy to model for a small list. More in Lusha alternatives.
Skip it if: you want account-based plays or intent signals beyond one topic per credit.
RocketReach
Best for: individual lookups with a flat yearly price.
Price (checked 2026-10-08): Free with 5 lookups and no card. Essentials is $399 billed annually (shown as $33 a month). Pro is $899 a year ($75 a month). Ultimate is $1,699 a year ($142 a month). Ultimate lists intent data and healthcare data; Pro and up list integrations with Salesforce, Outreach, HubSpot, Salesloft and Bullhorn.
The yearly price is easy to put in a budget, and it is the only tool here that lists healthcare data by name. More in RocketReach alternatives.
Skip it if: you want a search that starts from a list of places.
Hunter
Best for: a company website in hand and an email needed.
Price (checked 2026-10-08): Free with 50 credits a month. Starter is $49 a month, or $34 a month billed yearly (2,000 credits a month). Growth is $149 ($104 yearly, 10,000 credits). Scale is $299 ($209 yearly, 25,000 credits). Enterprise is custom.
The Free plan includes connecting one email account and 500 recipients per sequence. For small outreach it covers more than people expect. More in Hunter.io alternatives.
Skip it if: you need to discover companies rather than look up a known one.
LeadMagic
Best for: teams that enrich lists through an API and want to pay only for results.
Price (checked 2026-10-08): No free plan on the page. Essential is $99 a month or $990 a year (5,000 credits a month). Growth is $249 a month (20,000). Professional is $499 a month (50,000). Ultimate is $849 a month (100,000). The page says credits are only deducted on a successful enrichment.
Plans are shown with a per-credit rate that falls as the plan grows, from about two cents on Essential to under one cent on Ultimate, per the page.
Skip it if: you are one person with a short list.
Seamless.AI
Best for: sales teams that want a large sales database and are fine booking a demo to see the price (the homepage also has a sign-up-free button).
Price (checked 2026-10-08): No prices are published. The pricing page is an inquiry page that asks you to book a demo to see whether you need its Pro or Enterprise plan. The homepage has a sign-up-free button.
Its homepage claims 1.6 billion verified business emails and 448 million phone numbers. Those are the vendor's own claims and we have not checked them. Because the pricing page is an inquiry page, it is no easier to budget than ZoomInfo until you talk to them. See Seamless.AI alternatives.
Skip it if: a public price is a must-have for you.
When ZoomInfo is still the right call
ZoomInfo's page shows things most of this list does not: intent topics, account-based marketing products, a conversation-intelligence product (Chorus) and a demand-generation product. If you have a team of reps, a CRM and a marketing programme, and you need account data, intent and call analysis in one contract, it is built for you, and a $49 plan will not replace it. The usual way to check is to ask for a quote, compare it to the sum of the tools you would otherwise stack, and decide. Most small businesses will find the quote is more than the job needs.
Most first agreements are two pages, not twenty. The contracts walkthrough lays out the clauses that actually matter for the contract, including the termination language operators forget about until they need it.
Pricing math you can do today
A stated case: one owner-operator who wants 150 named local decision-makers a month for a year. These are sticker prices from the pages above, not quotes.
- ZoomInfo: unknown until you ask. We will not guess.
- Apollo Basic: $49 x 12 = $588 for one seat (annual billing), 30,000 credits a year.
- Hunter Starter: $34 x 12 = $408 billed yearly, 2,000 credits a month.
- RocketReach Essentials: $399 billed annually.
- VendBuddy Starter: $49 x 12 = $588 monthly, or $470 yearly with 2,040 credits. Or buy only what you use: 200 credits for $119 one time.
VendBuddy's pay-per-reveal model is the main difference. On Starter, 150 credits for $49 works out to about 33 cents a reveal; the packs run from 64 cents a credit (50 for $32) down to 49 cents (500 plus 100 bonus for $295), and pack credits do not expire. There is no seat licence. The 7-day money-back guarantee applies to a first subscription payment if you have not used a credit, and renewals and credit packs are not refundable, per the pricing page.
Where VendBuddy fits, and who should not use it
VendBuddy is our product. ZoomInfo is a database you query by company and person attributes; VendBuddy is a map you query by place. You enter a US ZIP, pick property types (the site lists 79, including apartment communities, offices, gyms and medical offices) and get every nearby match with its usual decision-maker title. Searching and exporting the company list is free, and one credit reveals the best contact on file for one business you pick (see the pricing page).
The honest limit for a ZoomInfo buyer is scope: this covers local US businesses, not every company in the world by title. Reveals draw on outside data providers; we do not own a contact database and we publish no accuracy rate, so judge it on the 5 free credits. The product was built for vending operators, so the revenue rating and the pitch extras are vending-specific.
Who should not use VendBuddy:
- Teams that need account-based marketing, a conversation-intelligence product or procurement paperwork.
- Enterprise sales teams that need intent data, technographics, 100,000-contact exports or an outside CRM sync (the pricing page lists a built-in pipeline CRM only).
- Anyone searching by job title nationwide, or outside the US: search starts from a US ZIP and a distance.
How to choose
Ask three questions. Who is your buyer: a company filtered by title, or a building in your area? If it is a building, start with the free ZIP search. Do you need a price now? If yes, rule out the two quote-only tools. Is a team going to share it? If yes, per-seat pricing matters and so does CRM sync. After that, the cheapest option is the one you will use weekly. For the wider field, see our best lead generation tools for small business roundup.
If you are leaving ZoomInfo
Check your contract end date and any auto-renewal terms before you do anything else. Export the contacts and lists you are entitled to keep, in the format your contract allows. Run the new tool on 20 contacts you already know, to see how many match. Overlap for one billing period, then cancel.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best ZoomInfo alternative for a small business?
It depends on your buyer. For local businesses near a ZIP and the decision-maker at each, VendBuddy (our product) lists its prices and charges per reveal. For nationwide B2B search with published plans, Apollo starts at $49 per seat a month billed annually and has a Free plan. Prices were checked on each vendor's page on 2026-10-08.
How much does ZoomInfo cost?
ZoomInfo does not publish dollar prices on its pricing page as of 2026-10-08. The page lists plan names and says cost depends partly on credit usage and the depth of data. You need to contact sales for a quote, so we do not give a number.
Is there a free alternative to ZoomInfo?
Yes. Apollo, Hunter, Lusha, Prospeo, RocketReach and VendBuddy all have free plans or free credits. VendBuddy gives 5 free credits with no card, and its ZIP search and company list are free to run and export.
Can VendBuddy replace ZoomInfo?
Only for local prospecting. It does not offer intent data, technographics, large exports or an outside CRM sync, and it was built for vending operators. If you sell to companies by title, nationwide, ZoomInfo or Apollo fits better.
Does VendBuddy own its contact data?
We do not claim that. Reveals draw on outside data providers, and we publish no accuracy rate. Try the 5 free credits on businesses you can check yourself.
