About VendBuddy

VendBuddy is vending machine operator software. It is a web platform that US vending operators use to find placement-worthy locations in any ZIP code, reach the person who can actually say yes, and then run the machine once it is in the building — product mix, margins, the placement agreement, and route profit and loss, in one tool instead of four spreadsheets and a notes app.

Why VendBuddy exists

Vending machines do not make money. Locations do. The identical cabinet nets a few dozen dollars a month in a weak spot and several hundred in a strong one, and almost everything that decides which one you end up with happens before the machine is delivered — which building you picked, who you pitched, and what you agreed to.

That part of the job had no tooling. Operators were pulling addresses off Google Maps by hand, guessing at who managed the property, and writing placement agreements from scratch. VendBuddy was built to compress that work, by the same people who do it: the VendBuddy team operates and services machines, and the platform is the tooling we wanted for our own routes. It is built for US operators specifically — the lead data, the location scoring, the contract language, and the state-by-state vending law reference are all United States only, because pretending otherwise would make every one of them worse.

How we handle numbers

VendBuddy publishes several hundred operator guides, and the whole point of them is that an operator can act on the numbers. So the editorial rules are narrow and we hold to them:

• Ranges, not headline averages. A machine that grosses $400 a month and one that grosses $3,000 are both real. We publish the spread and what moves you along it, because a single average hides the only decision that matters.
• Every figure is attributed. Industry statistics carry a named source. Numbers that come from our own dataset are labelled VendBuddy operator data and described as exactly that — not dressed up as an industry study.
• The method is published. Our margin research explains its dataset and its arithmetic in a methodology section you can check, and the statistics roundup opens with how to read these numbers before it quotes a single one.
• We say when the answer is no. Several guides tell readers that vending is the wrong business for their situation, and the readiness quiz has results that recommend waiting. That is the point of writing them.

The same record then moves through the pipeline, the product planner, the contract creator and the route dashboard, so the location you found is the location you go on to track.
