VendBuddy is vending machine operator software. It is a web platform that US vending operators use to find placement-worthy locations in any ZIP code, reach the person who can actually say yes, and then run the machine once it is in the building — product mix, margins, the placement agreement, and route profit and loss, in one tool instead of four spreadsheets and a notes app.
Why VendBuddy exists
Vending machines do not make money. Locations do. The identical cabinet nets a few dozen dollars a month in a weak spot and several hundred in a strong one, and almost everything that decides which one you end up with happens before the machine is delivered — which building you picked, who you pitched, and what you agreed to.
That part of the job had no tooling. Operators were pulling addresses off Google Maps by hand, guessing at who managed the property, and writing placement agreements from scratch. VendBuddy was built to compress that work, by the same people who do it: the VendBuddy team operates and services machines, and the platform is the tooling we wanted for our own routes. It is built for US operators specifically — the lead data, the location scoring, the contract language, and the state-by-state vending law reference are all United States only, because pretending otherwise would make every one of them worse.
What the platform does
Eleven tools, all pointed at the same job — find the location, win it, then run it profitably:
- Lead Finder — ranked vending prospects by US ZIP code.
- Contact Intelligence — verified decision-maker email and phone.
- Location Product Planner — demographic-matched product mix.
- Margin Analysis — editable COGS and sell prices with underperformer flags.
- Machine Finder — the right machine for each location type and budget.
- Contract Creator — placement agreements pre-filled in 60 seconds.
- Route Dashboard — P&L, leaderboard and performance trends.
- Growth Coach — 185+ vending operator answers.
- Restock Log — with photo uploads.
- Tax-ready P&L — exported as a PDF.
- Route Valuation — a sellable one-pager for your route.
Full feature detail and current pricing are on the pricing page; the free tools (Opportunity Map, Machine Finder, calculators) need no account at all.
How we handle numbers
VendBuddy publishes several hundred operator guides, and the whole point of them is that an operator can act on the numbers. So the editorial rules are narrow and we hold to them:
- Ranges, not headline averages. A machine that grosses $400 a month and one that grosses $3,000 are both real. We publish the spread and what moves you along it, because a single average hides the only decision that matters.
- Every figure is attributed. Industry statistics carry a named source. Numbers that come from our own dataset are labelled VendBuddy operator data and described as exactly that — not dressed up as an industry study.
- The method is published. Our margin research explains its dataset and its arithmetic in a methodology section you can check, and the statistics roundup opens with how to read these numbers before it quotes a single one.
- We say when the answer is no. Several guides tell readers that vending is the wrong business for their situation, and the readiness quiz has results that recommend waiting. That is the point of writing them.
If you find a number on this site you think is wrong, tell us and we will check it and correct it.
Frequently asked questions
What is VendBuddy?
VendBuddy is vending machine operator software for the United States. It finds candidate vending locations in any US ZIP code, reveals the decision-maker at each one with a verified email and direct phone, and then carries that location through product planning, a placement agreement, and route profit and loss. Plans start at $29 a month, and every new account gets 5 free credits with no card required.
Who is VendBuddy for?
US vending machine operators at both ends of the range: beginners placing their first machine, and established operators running twenty or more. The platform assumes no prior industry experience, and the built-in Growth Coach answers 185+ operator questions in plain language. It is not a general B2B sales tool, and it is not a franchise or a business opportunity.
How does VendBuddy work?
You enter a US ZIP code and pick a location type such as warehouse, office, apartment, school, gym or medical. VendBuddy returns ranked prospects with a vending score, employee count, foot traffic estimate, and the likely decision-maker title. One credit unlocks the verified email and direct phone for that person. The same record then moves through the pipeline, the product planner, the contract creator and the route dashboard, so the location you found is the location you go on to track.
Is VendBuddy legit?
Yes. VendBuddy is a working software product with paying subscribers, month-to-month billing handled by Stripe, no contract and no cancellation fee, and you can cancel from the billing portal inside the app at any time. Every revenue figure published on this site either names its source or is labelled as VendBuddy operator data rather than as an industry study. The 5 free credits exist so you can check the lead quality yourself before paying anything.
Contact
Support, corrections, press, and partnership questions all go to one place: hello@vendbuddy.io. Billing and account questions are usually fastest from the billing portal inside the app. We are written-only — email gets a real answer, and it gets one faster than a calendar invite would.
Legal and data: privacy policy, terms of service, data deletion.
