Data Deletion
You can delete your VendBuddy account and all associated data at any time. This page explains how.
How to request deletion
Email hello@vendbuddy.io from the email address on your account with the subject line "Delete my account."
We will:
- Confirm the request by replying to the same email address within 3 business days
- Complete deletion from our primary systems within 30 days of confirmation
- Purge backups containing your data within 90 days
What gets deleted
- Your account record, email, and password hash
- All leads, routes, machines, contracts, and pipeline data you created in the app
- Usage logs and analytics records tied to your account identifier
- Referral records linking your account to any referrer or referee
- Your Stripe customer record (via Stripe's deletion API)
What we may retain
A small amount of data is retained after deletion where required by law or to operate a legitimate business:
- Billing records required for tax and accounting — retained for 7 years (US IRS requirement)
- Anonymized and aggregated analytics — with no identifier that can be linked back to you personally
- Fraud and abuse records — if your account was flagged for abuse (disposable email, credit farming, etc.), we may keep a hashed record of the email and IP to prevent re-registration
If you signed up with Google
You can also revoke VendBuddy's access to your Google account at any time:
- Go to Google Account → Security → Third-party apps with account access
- Find "VendBuddy"
- Click Remove Access
Revoking access stops us from fetching any new information about you from Google. To also delete the VendBuddy account and data already on file, follow the email-request steps above.
Automated deletion requests (for Meta and other platforms)
Platforms like Meta can send programmatic deletion requests on behalf of users. Those requests are accepted at the same address — hello@vendbuddy.io — and processed on the same timeline (confirmation within 3 business days, deletion within 30 days). A confirmation code is returned so the user can track status.
