VendBuddy Review: What It Does, What It Costs, Who Should Skip It

The 30-second version
  • We build VendBuddy, so this is the maker's account, not an independent test. Everything comes from the public site on 2026-10-08.
  • Searching is free, a free account has 5 credits and no card, Starter is $49 a month for 150 credits, Pro is $79 for 300, and credit packs start at $32 for 50.
  • It is built for vending operators: the rating, guides and kits assume you want to place machines. A reveal returns whatever contact details are on file, which can lack an email.
  • Skip it if you need title filters across an industry, buying-intent data, a general CRM or coverage outside the US.

We build VendBuddy, so read this VendBuddy review as the maker's honest account, not as an independent test. We wrote down what the live product does, what it costs and where it does not fit, using only what the public site shows on 2026-10-08. We include no star rating, no customer quotes and no accuracy figure, because we do not have any we can document.

The short answer

  • Pick VendBuddy if you sell or place something in local businesses, you think in ZIP codes and building types, and you want to pay for a contact only after you chose the business. Searching is free. A free account has 5 credits and no card.
  • Pick something else if you need to filter people by job title across a whole industry, buying-intent data, or very large exports. See the best b2b lead generation tools for those.
  • Skip it if you want a product that works as a general sales CRM, or you are outside the US. The lead finder is described for US ZIP codes, and much of the product is written for vending operators.

What VendBuddy is

VendBuddy is a web app for vending machine operators who need locations. The site's own line is "Type your ZIP. See the businesses near you that could host a machine, with the owner's email and phone." Around that search sits a set of tools for the rest of the job: pitch writing, contract templates, a pipeline board, a route dashboard, and guides and kits for new operators. Because it was built for vending, some of it will mean nothing to a seller of another product. We say which parts below.

Most people working on the pitch start by pulling the list rather than driving the map. The ranks the businesses around your ZIP by type and headcount, and the first five contact reveals are free.

What it does, step by step

1. Search a ZIP and pick a radius

You enter a ZIP code and choose how far to look: 1, 5, 10, 25 or 50 miles. You pick a location type from a long list. The first ones are manufacturing and warehouse, school or university, apartment complex, healthcare and medical office, gym and fitness center, office building, and hotel or extended stay. Further down are dozens of narrower types, such as urgent care, dental office, nursing home, boxing gym, laundromat, car wash and airport. Or you search all types at once.

Each result shows the business name, address, category, website, an employee-count estimate and a rating of High, Medium or Low for revenue potential. Some come back as "Limited data". The rating is for vending revenue. It is a guess about how a machine would do there, not a measure of whether the business is a good customer for anything else.

2. Check that the business is still open

"Verify Business" tells you whether a place is open or closed, its Google rating and its website. The pricing page says it is free on every plan, up to 50 a day. Bulk verify, for 10 or more at once, is a Pro feature.

3. Reveal the contact

For a business you picked, one credit reveals the best contact on file. The site words it carefully: owner or manager when available, with "whatever name, title, email and phone are on file". Before you spend the credit, the result tells you what title to ask for at that kind of business. Treat that as a starting point. A reveal can come back with a phone but no email, and nothing on the site promises otherwise.

4. Pitch, save and follow up

From an unlocked lead you can generate a written pitch, which costs 2 credits in the app today, and open a meeting kit. Starter and Pro also include a pipeline board with unlimited deals, a contract creator with a scope of work, flyer and script templates, and a restock log, a route dashboard and a tax-ready profit and loss export for operators who already run machines.

5. Learn the business, or pay someone to do part of it

The site sells one-time documents: a $27 starter kit, a $27 AI pitch pack, a $47 location playbook, and a $69 bundle of all three, plus two bonus documents. It also sells hands-on products. A $97 product delivers 50 ranked leads in one ZIP as a spreadsheet and a one-page report, with the best contact on file where one resolves. The $297 Fast-Start Kit is 50 researched locations in your city plus 90 days of Starter. The $997 Launch Kit is 300 scored leads across a metro area, a one-to-one strategy session and six months of Starter. Those last two are the "done with you" options. We cannot tell you how they turn out for any one buyer, and we publish no results.

What it costs (live pricing page, 2026-10-08)

PlanMonthly priceCreditsNotes from the page
Free$05, one timeNo card. Lead finder in any US ZIP, free Verify Business, email support
Starter$49150 a month, all at onceAnnual is $470 a year ($39 a month), with 240 bonus credits. Adds pipeline board, contract tools, route dashboard

On Starter the monthly price works out to about 33 cents a contact if you use all 150 credits, and about 23 cents on the annual plan. You pay nothing for searching, so the cost is tied to the businesses you decide are worth a call.

Refund terms are narrow. You get your money back once, on the first subscription payment, within 7 days, if you have not used a credit. Renewals and credit packs are not refundable. Cancel any time from the billing page and keep access to the end of the paid period.

How we checked

On 2026-10-08 we read the live home page, pricing page, kits page and the app's search screen, including the radius buttons and the location-type list, and copied the numbers from them. The pricing page also shows one real search, ZIP 45202, captured on October 8, 2026, with the contact details blurred. We did not run a fresh independent test for this review, we do not quote how many leads a search returns, and we leave out any customer count. If a statement here cannot be found on the live site, it is not in this review.

Alternatives

If VendBuddy does not fit, the closest comparisons depend on the job. Frequently Asked Questions

Is VendBuddy free?

There is a free account with 5 contact credits and no card, and searching and company data are free. Contacts beyond the first five need a plan or a credit pack. Starter is $49 a month for 150 credits, per the pricing page on 2026-10-08.

Who makes this review, and is it independent?

We build VendBuddy, so it is not independent. It is the maker describing the live product. We do not give a star rating or customer quotes, and everything about the product comes from the public site.

What does one credit buy?

One credit reveals the best contact on file for one business you picked, with whatever name, title, email and phone are available. Verifying a contact costs 1 credit. Verify Business, which checks whether a place is open, is free up to 50 a day. Generating a written pitch costs 2 credits in the app.

Can a reveal come back without an email?

Yes. The site words it as "whatever name, title, email and phone are on file", which means some contacts will have a phone and no email, or the other way around. We do not publish an email-found rate.

Can I use VendBuddy if I do not run vending machines?

You can run the same search and reveal for hotels, gyms, apartments, clinics and offices. But the revenue rating, the guides, the kits and most Starter features are written for vending operators, so the value outside vending is mainly the search and the contact reveal.

Can I get a refund?

Once, on your first subscription payment, within 7 days and only if you have not used a credit. Renewals and credit packs are not refundable. You can cancel any time from the billing page.
