THE CONVERSATION, WRITTEN DOWN  ·  $47

Vending machine location scripts: what to say when the door opens, the twelve answers you will actually hear, and the agreement you put in front of them.

A per-placement locator charges $400 to $1,500 and never tells you what they said.

Questions

What location should I target with no experience?

The script has variants for the five venue types beginners land most often. They are offices and professional buildings. Gyms and fitness studios. Apartment and residential buildings. Warehouses and industrial sites. And salons or small retail. The pitch that works in a warehouse is not the pitch that works in a law office. What to Bring to a Pitch adds the good and bad hours for each one. That matters more than most people expect. The same building is a different conversation at 7am and at 2pm.

I freeze at the door. Does a script actually fix that?

Partly, and we would rather be precise about which part. It fixes not having a first sentence, which is most of it. It does not fix the nerves, which is why there is a rehearsal section: three failure modes people hit when practising, a role-play structure, and a one-week progression so the first time you say these words out loud is not in front of a stranger. The first two or three real pop-ins will still be uncomfortable. Everyone reports that they stop being uncomfortable somewhere around the fifth.

How many rejections should I expect?

Roughly fifteen to twenty pop-ins to land one placement. That is the arithmetic, it is why the carry list document defines what a successful visit looks like when nobody said yes, and no document changes it. Anyone selling you a better number is selling you a feeling.

Is this a locator service?

No. We do not find locations for you, we do not sell you leads, and we do not promise a placement. You get the documents operators use to go and do it themselves.

Will this make me money?

We have no idea, and anyone who tells you otherwise is guessing. We sell documents and we make no representation about income, profit or number of placements. It takes 15 to 20 pop-ins to land one placement — that is the real math and it does not change based on who you pay.

What format?

Six files, 55 pages. Print the script and the agreement; they are meant to be carried, not read on a phone. Yours to keep, nothing renews.

Do I need a machine already?

No, and the checklist argues you should secure the spot first anyway — a machine is the least reversible purchase on the list, and buying it before you have anywhere to put it is how a $3,000 asset ends up in a garage. The distributor list is in here for when you are ready to buy.

Is the agreement legally binding?

It is a plain-English template with bracketed fields, not legal advice. Have a local attorney review it before you rely on it — that is true of any template you find anywhere. What the annotation gives you is an understanding of what each clause is doing, so the conversation with that attorney takes ten minutes instead of an hour.

I already own the $27 Starter Kit. Is there overlap?

Yes, and we would rather say so plainly: this includes the Starter Kit’s three documents. If you own it already you are paying $47 for the three location documents you do not have. That is still a fair trade at $20 above what you have spent, but you should know that is what you are buying rather than discover it in the download folder.

More from the shelf

Payment is handled by Stripe. VendBuddy sells documents and software. We make no representation about the income, profit, or number of placements any operator will achieve — results depend on your market, your effort, and factors outside anyone’s control. Nothing here is legal advice; have a local attorney review any agreement before you rely on it.
