This vending machine pitch script for Canadian sites is for walking into warehouses, auto shops, arenas, apartment and condo buildings and college residences. It covers the front-desk line, a 45-second pitch for the property or facilities manager, three objections and the close, adapted from our US script for how Canadian buildings handle insurance certificates and agreements.
At the front desk
"Hi, I run a local vending company. Who manages the building or the staff room? I'd like a couple of minutes, or an email to send some info."
The 45-second pitch
"I place and service snack and drink machines at no cost to the building. I supply the machine, keep it stocked and clean, and handle repairs. Your staff or residents get something on site, any hour, and it takes tap with debit or credit. I carry general liability insurance and can send you a certificate, and I'll put everything in a short agreement with notice on both sides. Could I see where one might fit?"
Then ask about headcount, hours, and where people go now when they want a snack.
The three objections
- "We have a vendor." "Totally fine. If it's ever empty or down for long, I'd be happy to be your backup. Can I leave my card?"
- "We don't want to manage it." "You won't. Restocking, cleaning and repairs are on me, and you've got one number to call."
- "What does it cost?" "Nothing for the machine or product. It needs a standard outlet and some floor space. If you'd like a commission, we'll put it in writing."
The close
"Want to try it for three months? I'll send the agreement this week, and if it doesn't get used, you give notice and I'll remove it."
What to leave behind
- A one-page sheet with your business name, contact and payment options. In Quebec, have it in French.
- A certificate of insurance, or have your broker ready to issue one.
- A short draft placement agreement.
Talk to the local public health unit before the first install. Our Canadian set-up guide has the rest.
